I just finished all the episodes of Coed Demon Sluts. I read one after another because I could not stop reading them. They were magical. They were soooo awesome. I have now passed them on to my sister who has been begging me to hurry up and finish so she could get her hands on my laptop so she could read them.
I really like the characters, the hints to relationships to come and the references to the slacker demon books, which I've finally all read. Those little chapters highlight my days. Please keep going.
I love Beth. I can never wait until the next story.
So far I am really enjoying this tale. I look forward to the release of this book.

Gotta tell you, these stories crack me up! I never actually thought about something like this......but I must say I like it! I can't wait to see all the trouble and problems that Beth and the group get into and cause themselves.

I loved reading this book. I laughed so hard. It was pure reading pleasure. I was captivated from the first page until the last.Beth Saunders', 50, husband, Blake, left her for the young babysitter who used to sit for her OWN child when THEY were young. Now they are all grow up. One has their own family, the other his own business. The biggest problem is that Blake cheated Beth out of her settlement money from the divorce, her check bounced. For many, many years he had her convinced that he had fallen on hard times, and she foolishly believed him. He managed to convince his 2 kids to believe him over their own Mother. Telling them that he did INDEED pay her. So when Beth asked her daughter to stay with her after being thrown out of her own home, her daughter said NO. Beth moved into a cockroach infested motel. Convinced that the world would be better off without her in it, she goes to a cheap bar and plans to get drunk and then stand in the street to get hit by a bus. Thankfully at the bar she meets Delilah, a recruiter sex demon who works for Hell.
In exchange for room, board, all expenses paid, and the body of your dreams..(you can design it as many times as you want to). In exchange, you can 30 pieces of rare silver a month worth a min of $16,000-60,000 a piece. Plus bonuses. She has 4 roommates, including a house-boy.
Beth transforms herself 30 pounds skinner and, 30 years younger. She looks amazing. When she is picked up in a bar/restaurant by her drunk ex-husband who doesn't recognize her she's elated. When he stats spilling his guts out about his recent divorce and how he scammed his ex-wife, the only thing Beth is interested in is REVENGE on him. The 4 roommates work ruthlessly on accomplishing that goal.

This is a great story!! The author has quite an imagination and the characters are out of this world!! It has some humor and a little bit of sexy scenes, I was actually quite surprised there wasn't more of both! It's not light reading as I thought it would be, it follows Beth recently divorced, depressed, destitute thanks to her low life ex-husband. We meet her recruiter D** not supposed to say her name lol, plying her with drinks and telling her a bit about the job and life she could have. Beth wakes up with a hangover when the team come and get her to bring her to The Lair which will be her new home. Beth has a hard time with her new life and struggles throughout the book but finally at the end the light finally comes on and she sees through all the bs of her old life and embraces her new one. The author is quite brilliant creating her world of hinky Chicago and her characters are just that characters. I look forward to reading more about these funny, light hearted, broken and serious demon sluts. It's a great start and I'm loving it!!!
I was very undecided on this book for quite awhile. On the one hand, it sounded like a light, fun read. On the other hand, middle aged woman suddenly gaining a 20-something year old face with a body that doesn't gain any weight, no matter how much they eat? That sounds like some wish fulfillment ish to me.
Luckily for me, the $0 pricetag allowed me to give it a fair go. Or, as fair a go as I'd be able to give it, considering my hesitations.
I really enjoyed this story. It was funny, but also managed to tackle some very serious subjects and raise some serious questions without ever upsetting that delicate balance. I'm interested to see where this series goes, and am hoping future books will answer the questions I have about the rest of the CDS crews' pasts.
Obviously, given the title, there is going to be mentions of smexytimes, however the references were usually brief, and not overly graphic, in my opinion.
In short, if you find the title offensive or distasteful, you will not enjoy this book. If is doesn't bother you, then take a chance. You just might be glad you did.
I will add a warning, though this book features frequent mentions of food, so you may very likely find yourself rather hungry while reading.
Describing what Jennifer Stevenson writes is challenging. They're romances, but with a big dose of humor. They're fantasy, but with sex and humor. Maybe you could call them paranormal romance, which is a genre now... but there is still that humor. They're humor... but there is all that sex and romance going on. Whatever her books are, they're a hell of a lot of fun (or should that be a Hell of a lot?)... never more literally than her new series, Coed Demon Sluts.
As romances, they occupy a middle ground. There is too much sex for them to be sweet romance, but they're not explicit in the way that steamy romance has become. If you're looking for either of those extremes you won't find them here. What you will find is characters that develop over the course of the book and a actual story. You'll find lots of funny moments and revelations along the way. And yes, there will be some sexy times.
There is also a lot of wish fulfillment. The work of being a Coed Demon Slut isn't difficult and the Sluts enjoy their work. The pay of 30 pieces of silver a month seems paltry until you find out that it's paid in antique coins. And you don't have to starve yourself to stay sexy. So who wouldn't want to be one? There are actually some good reasons why you might not, but part of the beauty of the story is that it makes you think about questions like that... there's a nugget of thoughtfulness under the fun exterior.
